Celebrating 25 years of Pall-Ex UK
Pall-Ex has recently celebrated 25 years in business with an anniversary and awards event. The event recognised the achievements of its staff, shareholder members across the UK and some of its 170 independent UK hauliers.
On its road to success, Pall-Ex has gone from moving 117 pallets on its first night to transporting over 45,000 pallets per night nationally and internationally. In 1996, when Pall-Ex was founded, it was a trailblazer in the model for palletised haulage distribution in the UK. The company is now owned by its senior management team and some of the network of shareholder members.
As part of their celebrations Pall-Ex set aside £25,000 for charity. They asked each network to nominate a local charity from which twenty-five would be selected to receive a £1000 donation.
Bottrills Transport nominated The Apuldram Centre.
‘The Apuldram Centre is an independent registered charity, working to support adults with learning disabilities, and has delivered services in Chichester and surrounding area for 30 years. Our services include a dedicated Day Centre offering meaningful and enterprising daytime occupational activities such as horticultural, both on and off site, woodwork, cookery and arts & crafts. We also support a number of people in the Chichester area to live independently in their own tenancies. We run a community outreach service, Hub Club, three times a week in central Chichester. Over the years we have continued to evolve to ensure that we are responsive to the needs of the people that we support developing Supported Living and Community services.’ https://www.apuldram.org/about-us-2/
We were delighted when it was announced the Apuldram Centre had been selected and were recently presented with their cheque.
Bottrills Transport often deliver to the centre so have seen first hand the hard work they do and know our contribution will be put to good use in the development of the next stage of their project.
Our thanks to Pall-Ex for their generosity to the Apuldram Centre as well as the other 24 national local charities throughout the UK who benefited. A very special thanks to Rachel Aslet-Clark and her team for their continued dedication and hard work.
